Mini Red Bean & Yolk Cake is a traditional Taiwanese delicacy. In 1980, Kuo Yuan Ye pioneered the use of European-style puff pastry techniques to improve the traditional pastry crust. The filling features salted egg yolks, meticulously cured in red clay for 40 days using ancient methods, paired with house-made black bean paste, slow-cooked for six hours. This combination of rich European influence and authentic Taiwanese flavors results in a uniquely creative and exquisite Mini Red Bean & Yolk Cake.
In 1981, during the Mid-Autumn Festival, Kuo Yuan Ye became the first to package Mini Red Bean & Yolk Cake in gift boxes, sparking a buying frenzy. Customers who once flocked to Kuo Yuan Ye stores for iced bean paste cakes now eagerly purchased Mini Red Bean & Yolk Cake, creating a sensation. This innovation left a lasting impression on Taiwan's pastry culture. ※Taiwan Mainland - Free shipping for room temperature goods with a purchase of NT$3,000 or more, NT$170 will be charged for purchases below NT$3,000 ; free shipping for refrigerated and frozen goods with a purchase of NT$5,000 or more, NT$225 will be charged for purchases below NT$5,000.
※Taiwan outlying islands - Free shipping for purchases over NT$5,000. For purchases under NT$5,000, a shipping fee of NT$280 will be charged for room temperature products, and a shipping fee of NT$340 will be charged for refrigerated or frozen products.
